Paper Yurt Craft

A yurt or “ger” is a traditional circular dwelling used by the nomadic people of Central Asia. They were places of living and gathering which were packed up and moved as people migrated. Learn more about these traditional dwellings here.

Tibetan Prayer Flag Craft

Make colorful prayer flags with positive messages and hang them up in your room!

Zoo Jeopardy

Download and play Zoo Jeopardy with your students, friends or family. Learn about the Arctic and sub-Arctic species that live at the Alaska Zoo while scoring points and having fun! Great for parties or lessons about animal adaptations. Appropriate for all ages.

As a PowerPoint file, Zoo Jeopardy can be played on virtual meeting platforms with screen-sharing capabilities. Playing is simple, just follow these steps:

  1. Download the “Read Only” PowerPoint.

  2. Read the game instructions included on the first few slides.

  3. Use the links within the slideshow to navigate to questions, answers and the main game board.

  4. Gather students, friends or family members to play Zoo Jeopardy and learn more about your favorite animals!

Getting tired of being stuck inside this winter? Grab your coat and your mask and head outside to play Nature Bingo!

Download the Alaska Zoo’s Bingo Board to spark your curiosity and look for living and non-living things that make up the ecosystem of your backyard, city park or favorite trail.
